#Pray_For_Nesamani and #Nesamani is the number one trend in India on Twitter, and also the second trend worldwide.Who is contractor # Nesamani? He is actually a fictional character from a 2001 Tamil film titled Friends played by ace comedian Vadivelu.
#Pray_For_Nesamani and #Nesamani started with a post on Facebook page, where an image of hammer was posted and asked what was it called in our country. For which one of the reader Vigesh Prabakar, commented: “This is what we call Suthiyal. It will give «tung tung» sound when we blow with it on something. Painting contractor Nesamani’s head was broken in jamin palace with this one by his nephew. Paavam.” And he created the hashtag #Pray_for_nesamani which started to trend.
Since then, a lot of memes based on the hashtag and the particular scene from the movie have been trending.
