The Porn-Paradox: Effects of Erotica on Mind and Body



The other day I came across a proposal for the German government to create and distribute pornographic content to the public for the purpose of «education». Thus, I think it’s appropriate we discuss whether or not a government should engage in such support of what we would typically call a vice in regards to the impact on psychology and physiology. Does sexually explicit material have an effect on the mind and body? In this first part of a two part series, I seek to provide some potential answers from over 30 years of social science research.
