LIVE: Pregnant feral cat Ramona just had kittens! TinyKittens.com

By | 18.04.2018

UPDATE APRIL 17, 2:50pm: Ramona gave birth to five healthy kittens today, I believe we have four boys and one girl, but that might change… 😉

UPDATE APRIL 17 8:02am: Ramona is in ACTIVE LABOR!

Chloe, Rula and Ramona are pregnant ferals about to give birth for the last time. They come from a colony of more than 230 feral cats, where 90% have been spayed/neutered thanks to Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) efforts. Meet their colony: http://TinyKittens.com/happyforest

We are predicting kittens to arrive from Ramona (5? kittens), then Chloe (6? kittens), then Rula (5+ kittens). We believe they are all due within about a week of each other.

UPDATE APRIL 15, 2018: Chloe is beginning to show signs of pre-labor, mainly restlessness and increased grooming. Pre-labor can last anywhere from hours to days. Ramona is avoiding spending time in a nest, which can also be a sign she is getting closer. She has not been on the camera enough today to look for pre-labor contractions or any other signs.

UPDATE APRIL 3, 2018: A third pregnant feral named Rula has joined our feral caternity ward. She is also from the Happy Forest. Rula is black with a subtle white locket, white belly spot and white hairs on her scruff.

UPDATE APRIL 2, 2018: Gwen «accidentally» trapped a pregnant feral cat, so we are going to see how she does sharing a room with Chloe. Chloe (ginger + white) and Ramona (pure black) are from the same colony, so it is likely they know each other. There are two nests in the room, and plenty of space for both of them.

Ramona is younger than Chloe, probably around 18 months old, and is likely due around the same time as Chloe. We will post updates as we find out more.

It’s official! We’re on #KittenWatch!

UPDATE March 24: Chloe is scheduled for an exam and radiographs on Wednesday to check for kittens, check her lungs (they sound a bit wheezy), and do bloodwork.

Chloe will be part of our new project to map the DNA of her feral cat colony. http://tinykittens.com/dna

Chloe is a feral cat who was trapped on March 23, 2018 because she appeared to be pregnant. Our intake exam revealed she is also in need of dental surgery. The plan is to observe and confirm she is pregnant, and see how receptive she is to socialization.

If she is pregnant, she will have her last litter of kittens in safety and then mom and kittens will all be spayed/neutered. If not pregnant, she will be spayed, have dental surgery and then we will determine if she is a candidate for socialization and adoption while she recovers.

Chloe comes from a colony that started with more than 230 feral cats. We have done Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) on 90% of this colony, and have socialized and adopted more than 100 cats and kittens. We provide daily feeding and care to the remaining cats as we continue to socialize and adopt out any willing cats. More at http://tinykittens.com/happyforest

UNCENSORED RESCUE REALITY
This is uncensored rescue reality TV — we give the best care we possibly can, but sometimes we have sick cats/kittens, poo, live births, and any number of other things.

Concerning Trolls: Ignore them. That’s what they hate the most. Their goal is to upset you so you yell at them. They think this is funny.

Thank mew so much to everyone who is watching!
